1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy is issued by 2dx3 LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), operator of the Pane application and the website at usepane.app. Contact: pane@usepane.app.

2. What Pane Is

Pane is a single-purpose iOS application (requiring iOS 17.0 or later) that enables users to display one piece of user-authored text as a home screen widget. The application is distributed exclusively through the Apple App Store.

3. Data We Collect — In the App

Pane collects no personal data. The application stores only information you explicitly provide, retained exclusively on your device: (a) your note text; (b) your color theme preference; (c) your font preference; and (d) your onboarding completion status. All such data is stored via iOS UserDefaults within an App Group shared solely between the main application and its widget extension.

The content of your note never leaves your device. We do not access, view, or receive your note content at any time.

The application also collects basic, anonymous usage analytics and crash reporting data to assist us in improving the application. This data contains no personal information and no note content. You may disable this at any time through the application's settings.

Pane does not require user accounts, authentication, or registration. The application does not access your contacts, location, camera, microphone, health data, or any other device sensors.

4. Data We Collect — On the Website (usepane.app)

The Pane marketing website employs three third-party analytics services: Google Analytics (traffic, session, and referral data), Vercel Analytics (traffic and Core Web Vitals), and Amplitude (page views, click events, and conversion events). These services may set cookies and may collect information such as IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and interaction events. We use this data to understand site usage and improve the product. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information on the website and do not sell this data.

Google Fonts (Inter) are served from Google's servers, which may log standard web request data pursuant to Google's own privacy policy.

Website analytics are collected independently of the iOS application. Installing or using Pane does not result in data being transmitted to these website analytics services.

5. Third-Party Services

Third-party services used in connection with Pane include: the Apple App Store, which handles purchase, distribution, and payment processing subject to Apple's privacy policy; an anonymous analytics and crash reporting provider, which processes anonymous usage and crash data solely to deliver it to us — no personal information or note content is ever included; and the website analytics providers listed in Section 4, each governed by their respective privacy policies.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, rent, or otherwise transfer any user data to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. The only data transmitted off your device is anonymous usage and crash reporting data, which contains no personal information and no note content, and which you may disable at any time through the application settings.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

All note content and application preferences are stored locally on your device. Uninstalling Pane permanently removes all locally stored data. There is no cloud backup, server-side storage, or remote copy of your note content, and we have no ability to access, retrieve, or recover it.

Anonymous usage and crash reports, if enabled, are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to diagnose issues and understand product usage.

8. Children's Privacy

Pane does not knowingly collect personal information from any individual, including children under the age of 13. The only data transmitted off your device is anonymous usage and crash reporting data, which contains no personal identifiers and no note content. 9. International Users

The only data transmitted from your device is anonymous usage and crash reporting data, which contains no personal information. Pane functions identically regardless of the user's geographic region.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at usepane.app/privacy with an updated effective date. Continued use of the application following the posting of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
